Urgent Support Needed: Julie & David’s Post-Hurricane Helene

Hi everyone, Julie and David here. Our home city has been completely devastated by Hurricane Helene. Asheville, NC, is not the same, and we’re heartbroken by the destruction around us. Many have lost their homes, vehicles, and even their lives. We feel incredibly fortunate to be alive.

In the aftermath, we are facing tremendous challenges. I’ve lost both of my main sources of income, and David is unable to work his IT job because we’ve been without power and reliable internet for over a week.

On top of that, our town is currently under a curfew due to looting in the area. Just a few nights ago, someone tried to break into our home through the back door. While we’re grateful for our safety, the situation has been incredibly stressful and uncertain.

We are navigating a lot of uncertainty as we try to recalibrate our lives and figure out where our next paycheck will come from. Essential expenses like rent, food, insurance, and utilities are starting to add up, and we’re asking for support from our community during this time of crisis.

While we are doing everything we can to rebuild, any contribution, no matter the size, would make a huge difference in helping us cover immediate expenses and find some stability as we move forward.
