Urgent Support Needed for Pam's Plumbing Crisis
Donation protected
Late Friday morning, my best friend/sister, Pam, got home from shopping to find water filling the street in front of her trailer. Upon quick inspection, she found that the water pipe under her trailer had split. After a lot of back and forth trying to repair it with maintenance, it was discovered that the copper piping under the trailer was not 1/2 inch or even 3/8, but 7/16. This led to a temporary fix of rubber tubing and clamps to get through the weekend.
This morning, before she could even start to call around for a plumber who could work with the piping, the temporary fix failed, forcing her to turn off the water completely.
She was able to get someone to come out and look at it. She was told that she would need to have all of the piping replaced entirely, as the 7/16-inch copper had been phased out over the years. There's nowhere to get that sizing anymore, and the estimate they are giving her is $4,000 or more.
Pam is a disabled stay-at-home mother and is physically unable to work. Her fiancé works full-time and has a good job, but they are still living paycheck to paycheck. This catastrophe happened with no warning and with children in the home, she really needs running water.
Any little bit would be such a huge blessing to her and her family as they try to figure this out.
