Urgent Support Needed for Mckenzie’s Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Dear friends, colleagues, and family,
We are not accustomed to asking for your help, but we are in a time of dire need and your support urgently.
On August 28th, our dear Mckenzie received a devastating diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma at just 25 years old. At the time of her diagnosis, Mckenzie had only recently shared the news of her engagement to high school sweetheart, Brady. They were about to send out her wedding invitations but have obviously postponed because of this unexpected health crisis.
Mckenzie is a beacon in our community, a lifelong helper and caregiver, and one of the strongest people I know. She works as an eating disorder therapist at a non-profit partial hospitalization program in Western New York, dedicating her life to helping others heal. Mckenzie and Brady live far from their families, relying on the support of their wonderful friends in New York, while their families are in Wisconsin.
Since her diagnosis, Mckenzie and Brady have faced overwhelming upfront treatment costs and unexpected medical debt. Mckenzie is the primary financial provider while Brady is attending paramedic school full time while applying for medical school.
The pair have also been advised to pursue IVF egg/embryo preservation as chemotherapy poses a significant risk of causing infertility and may impact their dream of having a family. To achieve this, they have already had to pay thousands of dollars in upfront costs to secure the necessary medication.
Your donation may help Mckenzie and Brady pay for:
- Chemotherapy and radiation treatment
- Fertility protection
- Surgical costs
- Daily living costs, food, rent and utilities
- Wellness treatments
- Transportation
