My Name is Abdullah – This is My Story

My name is Abdullah, I’m 23 years old, and I’m from Gaza. I used to live a simple life surrounded by my family of eight. We didn’t have much, but we had love, dreams, and hope for a better future.

Everything changed. I lost my home, my university education, my closest friends, and everything I once had. In a single moment, the life I built with so much effort was turned into dust and silence.

Now, every day is a fight for survival. Every night, I try to sleep under the weight of grief, responsibility, and fear for my family’s safety. As the eldest, I carry the burden of protecting them, comforting them, and trying to give them hope — even when I feel empty inside.

This is not just my story — it’s the story of many in Gaza. But I share mine today in hopes that someone out there might hear us, see us, and help us hold on just a little longer.

At a time where a bag of flour is $300 and a single onion can cost $10 due to the blockade this family is in need of urgent support to survive as they are without a means for income. The current 'aid' distribution sites administered by the occupation and US forces have indiscriminately targeted Palestinians aiming to provide a meal for their families from an already meager supply, leaving many killed or wounded.

Prices for goods fluctuate depending on the unfolding situation - with communication barriers due to internet outages, inadequate aid, and high comissions to recieve funds at 35-50%; Abdullah and his family are in urgent of support to obtain essentials such as food and baby supplies for dear Mustafa - your donations are their best security

As for me, I live in London and am a new University graduate, I've met Abdullah through a mutual friend of mine. I will be transfering the funds to him for his family directly - please do keep in mind comissions as well as fees - platforms such as Gofundme take an amount for processing, which really does add up!
