Kimchi, my darling 8 year old pup, went to the emergency vet on Wednesday evening for an upset tummy, it turns out that upset tummy is a tumor near her spleen, determined to likely be hemangiosarcoma, known as the “silent killer” and is a common cancer in dogs that shows up suddenly and spreads rapidly.

On average, the cost to 1) get a biopsy and 2) get emergency surgery to both remove the tumor to prevent rupture and internal bleeding and potentially remove her spleen is quoted from numerous vets in the area to be around $9,000-$10,000. My family is at a loss on how to we can manage to cover this (we are still paying off Carecredit from a her prior heart worm surgeries and after care AND paying back a loan to save our cat’s life back in August, which was sadly unsuccessful).

We have a finite amount of time to get the funds together and this is my last shot to save her life. She has saved mine over and over again, I owe her every amount of effort I can give.

Kimchi has been my best friend and heart dog from the moment I laid my eyes on her at the pound. She is survivor of abuse, starvation, breeding, aggressive heart worm, open heart surgery… I know she can survive this if I can afford to give her the care she needs.
