Urgent Support for The Hermitage Brotherhood

The Hermitage of The Holy Protection Buena Vista, NJ FREEDOM FROM PERSECUTION! The Constitution guarantees religious freedom! However, currently in the USA, we are experiencing religious persecution from within religious institutions. There are legal attempts being made to grab church property from The Hermitage and force the Brotherhood, (the lawful stewards), out onto the street. The Hermitage Brotherhood was originally formed by the late Metropolitan Hilarion (Kapral) and Abbot Tikhon (Gayfudinov) in 2015. In 2017, Met. Hilarion deeded the property that was neglected for decades to the Hermitage. After the death of Metropolitan Hilarion in May 2022, the religious persecution of Fr. Tikhon and the Hermitage began. As a result, Abbot Tikhon was personally harassed and threatened. The Hermitage voted to leave the Russian Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) in late March 2023 and joined the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. But that did not end the persecution. In July 2023, the Diocese of Eastern America (ROCOR) filed a lawsuit against the Hermitage and Abbot Tikhon in an attempt to take the property. From the time he began in 2015, Fr. Tikhon has worked tirelessly to restore the Hermitage. He worked out of love for God to see the church restored. It has been restored to great Glory, Thanks be to God! Abbot Tikhon, appointed by the late +Met. Hilarion, is the head of this small Orthodox Christian Community. Currently, the Brotherhood lives at the Hermitage property and fulfills their everyday ministerial duties. The Brotherhood prays for peace and for the end of suffering worldwide. This Orthodox Community is spiritually focused on prayer and asks for God’s mercy. A church is a sanctuary for the faithful, where politics have no place! We pray for all and serve all in our community. After almost a decade of hard work to glorify God, there is a chance that Abbot Tikhon and the Brotherhood will be ousted from their home, and their monastic peace and community may be destroyed.
