Hi, my name is Taylor and I am requesting urgent support to help my sweet fur baby cross the rainbow bridge comfortably at home, with dignity and grace.
I am also requesting support for cremation services, and an urn, alongside premium fees for the urgency of our needs.
The vet has been extremely kind to allow me a payment plan to finish covering the cost of his lifesaving treatment over Christmas, but I still have close to $600 to cover for that as well.
His care needs have required 24/7 attentiveness for nearly a month, and as I primarily support myself with freelance work, this has also severely limited my income opportunities over the holidays. If we are to achieve, or even be so blessed as to exceed our goal, anything left after his needs are met, will go towards re-establishing a foundation for myself, to be able to better take care of his sister.
Teagus and I have had the blessing of being in each other’s lives actively since March 2015.
My uncle did not have biological children, but Teagus was his baby before he became mine.
My uncle passed away December 2014, from a brutal mix of complications from liver cancer, Hepatitis, and HIV. When he was on his deathbed struggling to let go, I held his hand and told him not to worry about his baby.
I promised him that Teagus would have a home with me- that I would adopt Teagus, and he would always be loved and cared for.
I have spent the last 11 years of my life doing my best to keep that deathbed promise to my uncle.
Teagus and I have been through so much together, it feels impossible to summarize it here. He has truly been my “son”, in as many ways as possible. We have overcome what feels like mountains of grief and challenges together, and we have also celebrated, and played, and danced together, and snuggled, in so many countless happy, whimsical moments.
I am struggling to find words to articulate how much this baby guy means to me, without falling apart, but I can say that he has given me a sense of purpose, when I had struggled to find one on my own.
He has saved me metaphorically- emotionally, spiritually, and he has also *literally saved my life, on a few occasions. I feel eternally grateful for his presence in my life, and at this time I just want the opportunity to allow him the dignity and care to end his life calmly, at home, before he experiences any more pain and discomfort.
Without getting into too many unpleasant details, we have been battling and navigating his kidney disease- which has advanced due to his age. The last few weeks have included multiple vet visits, including on Christmas Eve- when I think my baby chose to pull through one more miracle, to help his mommy feel comfort through an emotional end of 2025. ❤️
He has had moments of “improvement”, but we recently have had new symptoms, which indicate to me that his quality of life potential is lessened dramatically.
I have maxed out my savings, and utilized every resource I know available, just to buy us a little bit of time, and receive treatment for him to be more comfortable. I am struggling to provide much more, in a crucial time when he may need it most.
I currently have enough gabapentin and subcutaneous fluids to keep him comfortable for a couple more days; but I am humbly requesting assistance to help prevent my baby from experiencing any more discomfort, and if I am incredibly lucky, I would love to be able to afford cremation services, and a small urn to place near my uncle.
It is an impossibly difficult position to be in- as I want to soak up every single second of his purrs, and his cuddles, and his love… but I feel it is unethical to allow him to suffer, and though I have done everything in my power to treat, manage, fix, and heal his suffering…
I need help.
I have made many sacrifices over the years, to do my best to keep both of my fur babies alive and well cared for, as we navigated the challenges of illness, separation, divorce, freak accidents, medical traumas, surgeries, NDEs, multiple pregnancy losses, moving homes and away from our hometown, and countless other life experiences.
Despite many years of struggling quite a bit, I am grateful for my opportunities to grow and better myself, alongside having the support of my incredible animals.
I just want a chance to be the mom my babies deserve, and give my guy one last gift of peacefulness and calm, after the lifetime of love he has unconditionally blessed me with. ❤️
Every single cent helps, and thank you in advance for any kindness offered. I do not know how well I will be functioning by my birthday at the end of the week, and I may not have the capacity to be present for a while, but I will make every effort to pour back into my community, as soon as I am able.
Thank you to everyone for reading this far, may G-d bless you and Happy New Year.
