The city of El Fasher, in Darfur, has been under a brutal siege from the Rapid Support Forces since 2023. In October 2025 the local forces defending the city were finally overcome and the RSF invaded.

My good friend M. grew up in El Fasher and is now living in the U.K.. For the last few years he has been supporting many people through the siege and the war. Now that the RSF have finally invaded the city, the number of people who need help has increased rapidly, as tens of thousands try to escape the violence in El Fasher and travel across the border to safety in Chad.

We are in touch with thirty different family groups who need urgent support. Some are attempting to leave El Fasher in the midst of the violence, now that the siege has been broken. Others are in the middle of a long, dangerous journey from El Fasher to safety in Chad across the border. Others have reached refugee camps in the Chadian city of Tina safely, but have lost everything and are now struggling to support themselves.

All are in desperate need of funds to buy food, emergency medical supplies, tents and safe transport through the dangerous, war-torn areas that lie between El Fasher and Chad. All money raised will be transferred directly to these thirty families who have signed up with us; if this fundraiser exceeds its goals, more families will be added.
