Urgent Support for Shay’s Life Saving Treatment

Hi, I hope you are well, and thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I know she will hate this picture. But it is just a reflection of her and also the last photo she sent before she got sick.

I’m setting up this fundraiser for my beautiful friend Shay, who just turnt 25 and currently in the fight of her life.

She has severe Malaria, Babesia, neurological Lyme disease (neuroborreliosis)  Bartonella (neurobartonellosis) and other viral co-infections. These infections have unfortunately spread to her brain, heart, vision, nervous system, and immune system. Shes already had many many weeks of intravenous antibiotics, but is now completely disabled, were hoping temporarily, and having very scary worsening neurological symptoms, now she’s in urgent need of specialist treatment that is not available on the NHS. She’s on very strong anti seizure and pain medications, but it doesn’t stop the bacteria and virus progressing so her condition is worsening rapidly. Shay was misdiagnosed and untreated in the first critical time window. Her condition has now progressed into a complex, late-stage, multi-system illness that requires advanced, specialist care, unfortunately care that simply doesn’t exist in the public system here in the UK.

She has lost everything in a second from one insect bite. This is one of the most serious and heartbreaking things I’ve ever witnessed.

Shay has been accepted for a specialist treatment program in Germany, one of the only clinics in the world that offers intensive, life-saving care for patients like her.

This isn’t a luxury or a wellness retreat, this is her last chance to stop the infection from progressing any further. Without this intervention, her condition will continue to worsen, and more permanent damage and more severe organ failure will progress. The treatments are intense and aggressive, and it won’t be an easy road to recovery, but atleast we’ll regain hope.

Shay didn’t want to ask for any help, she’s already lost everything she worked so hard for, and has further financial debts to pay for private doctors, and most of the treatment in Germany, so I took it onto my own hands to raise the remainder.
