Urgent support for our coworker

Dear CUPE 23 Members and City of Burnaby Employees

As President of CUPE 23 it has come to my attention that one of our coworkers is in need of our assistance as the recent floods in the fraser valley have separated him from his home in Chilliwack. He was unable to return to his home Monday after his shift at work. Monday, November 16 he slept in his car at Warner Loat parking lot and tonight i found out that he was planning on taking shelter in a parks satellite site.

We have temporarily set him up at a hotel in Burnaby until he can return to his home. He has just the clothes he came to work with on Monday and will need to buy all his toiletries, meals, clothes to support his basic needs for the next few days until he can return to his home.

For now I ask that we give what we can to assist him for his immediate needs while we wait for the results of the flooding that's occurred.
