Urgent Support for Nakeysha's Medical Crisis

Hi guys, it’s Helena from That Masked Couple. I’m helping a dear friend of mine by starting a gofundme. What was supposed to be a weekend of dancing under the electric sky turned into a medical nightmare that’s still ongoing. A mother and daughter duo, Shantel (mother) and Nakeysha (daughter) faced a medical emergency. Nakeysha (seen on the left in the photo) started to have lower back pain after day one. By day 2 she was in excruciating pain, and started vomiting. Unable to keep any food or fluids down, they made their way to the med tent where Nakeysha had spiked a temp of 104.1. An ambulance was called and Nakeysha was admitted to the hospital. It was soon discovered that she had a kidney stone that was blocking her urine flow. She had to have drains placed so she wouldn’t become backed up with urine. On top of that, she also developed a staph infection, an UTI and became septic. She has been now hospitalized for 4 days and the doctors anticipate her to remain there for another week. It is still being determined when Nakeysha will have surgery.

Nakeysha and Shantel live in Utah. Shantel had to make the difficult decision to leave Nakeysha is Los Vegas to take care of things back at home. Unfortunately at this time Nakeysha does not have health insurance and is worried that she will not get continued care back home. Both Nakeysha and Shantel have missed a lot of work due to this unforeseen situation. I am asking for help to help cover the medical expenses and Nakeysha rent Give her one less thing to worry about for when she is finally able to go back home to Utah.
