Our family is raising money for my parents whose uninsured home, that they had for 45 years, was completely destroyed by a fire on 12/5/2025. That morning, I received a phone call from the police stating that my parents’ house is “currently engulfed in flames” and that I would need to meet my parents at the ER. My heart sank. I couldn’t believe it, especially since just 10 days prior, they were in a 3-car crash as they were trying to reach me after I accidentally sliced off the tip of my finger on a slicer. How can this be? Thankfully, they survived the car accident and the fire. My mom was able to barely escape the flames with the help of neighbors and my dad was able to crawl out - with an inured hand, leg, and shoulder- and across (30 inches deep) snow to the neighbors’ house. They were each transported via ambulances to the ER for treatment of 2nd and 3rd degree burns and smoke inhalation (carbon monoxide). With your help, 100% of funds raised will go directly towards their recovery. This includes ER expenses, clothing, food, shoes, winter gear, and other basic needs.
