This fundraiser is for our sweet friend Cali. She has supported many friends, artists, and causes over the years—now we want to make sure she's not facing all of this alone.

If you know her, you know she's had a rough few years, including being ghosted for a $17,000 client payment in 2023. She hasn't found solid ground in more than two years.

• Why GFM?

Cali was evicted from her apartment and urgently needs help securing a new place. She didn't lose her home for breaking rules—she paid everything per the contract. A shady property manager never said she couldn't have pets, so the owner fired him and evicted her.

If we can raise more, Cali would have breathing room to focus on finding stable work and completing her academic studies. Scrambling to survive is a terrible way to live.

• Loki & Rudo

Only Loki was meant to be Cali's puppy. Rudo, his mother, was only supposed to stay with her temporarily. Sadly, Rudo was abandoned by her human. She has become so attached to Cali that surrendering Rudo to a shelter felt cruel after everything she's experienced.

Because Cali is now caring for both dogs, she suddenly needs double of almost everything — vet visits, food, crates, carriers... If we can help her lift the financial burden of securing a new place, she could go back to her biggest focus: getting out of survival mode.

• Closing

Cali is not asking for long-term support — just a chance to land safely and protect the dogs who now depend on her.

She didn’t ask to include this, but it’s important to say: Cali still owes money to a few people after the financial fallout of 2023's jolting loss. If this reaches any of you — please know she has not forgotten.

This fundraiser is strictly for housing so she can stop the spiral and be on solid enough ground to finally make things right.
