Knee pain, swelling to being immobile without a clue of injury began the first week in August. In the first 3 weeks, Azsheia saw multiple doctors along with several ER visits with little to no help. She was always instructed to elevate her knee, ice it, and take this narcotic, ibuprofen, and Tylenol for pain, then shipped out the door with a bandaid over the problem. She was seen but not heard........ Excruciating pain, major swelling, and immobile, she followed their instructions with no improvement. On August 13th, there was a doctor that finally agreed to do an MRI and drained 50ml of fluid from her knee without putting her on an antibiotic afterward. Physically, mentally, and emotionally, things went south. Continued knee pain, swelling, immobility, discoloration (leg), sleep deprivation, vomiting, overdose, no reflexes, dehydration, anxiety, hallucinations, and not eating for days landed her in the hospital 3 weeks later. FINALLY, someone heard her and her cry for help!

Yes, she has several tears in her MCL that will heal on their own but needed/had SURGERY to clean out the major infection she had in her knee and joint. SEPTIC
  • She's had many tests: Laboratory tests (like blood, urine, and tissue analysis for CBC, CMP, and cultures), Diagnostic imaging (such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine scans), Endoscopy and Biopsies (using specialized scopes and tissue sampling for internal examination and diagnosis), Cardiovascular tests (like ECGs to assess heart function), along with IV, physical therapy, several different doctors, and some specialists. She also met with the Infectious Disease doctor to find out she now has a STAPH infection and will be on IV meds for another four weeks WHEN she gets to go home. She has been in the hospital for 7 days and counting, some days better than others but optimistic. Several things still have to happen before she can go home and continue to recover. She's looking at a minimum of 12 weeks of recovery along with physical therapy. I truly believe if someone would've heard her and helped her when this all started, she wouldn't be in the predicament she is now in.

  • Take time to listen!!

Her husband Jordan, and their 3 beautiful boys, Zayden (7), Vincent (4), and Jude (1), are anxiously awaiting her return home and pray for a speedy recovery! This has been a devastating blow, not only physically but also financially. The bills from doctor's visits and tests are going to start piling up.

Any contribution, prayers, or sharing the story would be appreciated. Let them know we are all here to help and to know they aren't alone

Azsheia says......Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
