Urgent support for a mother and her three kids!! Homeless!

Hello, I am a single mother of three girls. Last year, I was in a car accident that could and should have killed me. I have been out of work for a whole year due to healing from injuries. I just started working three days ago, however, I’m running out of time to keep my housing voucher. My kids and I are living out of our van and house hopping due to a slumlord.

We are on the Section 8 housing voucher program, but the landlord refused to make repairs to the property. So, Section 8 made us move out because they would no longer pay for the property. He then filed an eviction on me for non-payment of rent, even though the state was paying him. I contacted legal aid and was given an attorney. They fought to get the eviction off my name, however, it only recently came off and my voucher is due to expire in less than a week.

The only hang-up is a past due water bill. As I stated, I couldn’t work to pay for a year. I need help paying the water bill so Section 8 will approve my new application and my kids and I no longer have to bounce around. We have been put out of homes of some people who lived with us prior to this happening. I even tried to go back to my mother's home in Indiana, and she put me and my children out on the highway in the middle of nowhere. It took me almost a week to get back to Cincinnati.

I have called 211, United Way, Community Action Agency, St. Vincent DePaul, and literally any other resource I have been given, and I’m always too late because funds just ran out or they tell me it’s going to be a while before I get help. I don’t have a while, I have a few days. So now, I’m asking anyone that is willing to please help us before we become the next ones holding signs on the street because that’s all I'm going to have left to do in a few days.
