An Update on Desmond’s Recovery

Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,

We want to begin by saying thank you. Your prayers, messages, donations, and constant encouragement have carried us through some of the darkest and most uncertain days of our lives. We truly would not have made it this far without you.

We’re grateful to share that Desmond has now been discharged from hospital. This is a significant milestone in his journey. However, while leaving hospital is a blessing, it is not the end of the road — it is the beginning of a long and demanding rehabilitation process.

Desmond is currently undergoing extensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation. He is making progress, but it is slow and requires patience, consistency, and intensive professional support. Regaining mobility after such a serious spinal injury is not something that happens quickly. His body needs time, specialised therapy, and ongoing medical supervision to rebuild strength, coordination, and movement.

The reality is that the cost of this level of rehabilitation is considerably higher than we anticipated. The fees for physiotherapy sessions, specialist rehabilitation support, equipment, and continued care are substantial. Unfortunately, without sustained treatment, his progress could stall, and we are determined to give him every possible chance at regaining full mobility and independence.

We are therefore humbly asking for your continued support. Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly towards funding Desmond’s rehabilitation and keeping him in the programme for as long as necessary. Your generosity is not just financial support — it is hope, it is opportunity, and it is giving Desmond the best possible chance at recovery.
