The majority of the funds raised were used to secure food during days of severe hunger and shortages. In Gaza, food has become scarce and extremely expensive, and accessing basic necessities is a daily struggle. At the present time, your support is helping us cover rent for our home, daily food, and essential medication for my children.

To give a clearer picture of the reality here:

Basic food items are sold at many times their normal prices

Fresh vegetables and staples are often unavailable or unaffordable

Medicines are scarce, and when found, they are far beyond what most families can pay

My name is Mahmoud Salama from Gaza. Rachel created a gofundme campaign for me to collect donations for me and my family in order to get out of Gaza immediately so that we can escape the genocide that is happening in Gaza. I do not want to lose anyone from my family and I want to collect donations as quickly as possible for me and my family from In order to escape from Gaza, that is why I created the campaign.

My name is Rachel Taylor, I live in the US and I care deeply about Palestinians and ending genocide. I am managing campaigns for my friends so that they have a chance to live. All donations will be transferred directly to them. I will transfer funds via PayPal so they can stay alive while they raise money to escape.

My name is Mahmoud Salama, age 24. My child’s name is Muhammad Mahmoud, age 2. My wife’s name is Nour Youssef, age 22.

I will wait until the amount is collected, and when I finish collecting the required amount, I will go to the Hala Travel and Tourism Agency, owned by Mr. Alawi Muhammad Al-Olabi. I will talk to him so he can arrange for me and my family to leave Gaza for Egypt. I will pay a power of attorney for myself, Mahmoud Salama, $6,000, $6,000 for my child, Muhammad Mahmoud, and $6,000 for my wife, Nour. Youssef: $6,000. I will receive the security coordination in a few days. The day and time will be determined. By proxy, I will go from Khan Yunis to the Rafah land crossing by car. I will pay $300 for our trip to the crossing, and then I will also leave Gaza for Al-Arish by car. Because Gaza and Egypt are close to each other, all you need is a car. I will pay the driver the cost of transporting us to the Al-Arish area inside Egypt. $300. The price for us is to sit for a week in a house that we will rent for $800 for just a week. During the two days we will need food, water and basic needs. $150 is enough for me and my family. After that, I, my child, and my wife will move to the cities of Egypt by car and pay him. For $150, I will rent a house within the cities of Egypt for $300 per month, and from this price I will search for work and my family and I will live in peace inside sister Egypt.
