Hello, my name is Sandra and I have a neighbor who is a senior citizen, living alone, whose mobile home was built in the early '70s. Unfortunately, due to age, heat, humidity, and time, her electrical lines coming into her home have deteriorated to the extent that she has lost electricity to her entire home. She has no lights, no refrigerator, no stove, no fan, no hot water, no air conditioning, no television, no radio—anything that requires electricity has lost its power source.

She can't even charge her phone, except by bringing it to a friend's house or to our community laundry facility so she can charge her phone while she does her laundry.

She is a very proud lady and will not ask for help, and I only found out recently that she hasn't had electricity for nearly a month. I was physically ill when I found out, and I can't allow her to be alone in her home without safe electrical service, especially as the temperature and humidity are beginning to climb into the high 80s to 90 degrees. It is heartbreaking that she is suffering because she lives on very little means and will not ask for anything, and doesn't have family who can help her.

The repairs are very costly and require her to have a licensed electrician who will have to rewire her entire home and put in a new upgraded service panel before FPL can bring in new service to this new panel to energize power to her newly wired home.

She is a kindhearted person who does so much for others but won't allow anyone to know how she is suffering. This is why I must raise the funds necessary to hire an electrician to do all the preliminary work to facilitate FPL's ability to restore power to her home.
