Yesterday, while I was out releasing cats that I recently TNR’d (Trap-Neuter-Return) in one of my colonies, I spotted a tiny kitten — all alone, searching for food. When I got closer, I saw that this little baby had a severe eye issue. The eye was completely crusted shut, and it looked like there was either a missing eye or a very serious infection.
I couldn’t leave him there. I was able to carefully pick him up, get him safely in a carrier, and bring him home. He’s only about 4 weeks old, underweight, and possibly battling more than one condition — the eye issue could be feline herpes, a severe infection, or a missing eye, and I also suspect he might have ringworm, which needs treatment right away to keep him healthy and prevent spreading to other animals.
I am taking him to the vet as soon as possible to find out exactly what is going on and get him the urgent care he needs. If he truly has a missing or severely damaged eye, he will need surgery to stitch it closed — and that is a big, unexpected expense on top of exams, tests, medication, and treatment for any infections or ringworm.
I do this rescue work on my own, out of love for these animals, but it can be overwhelming and costly. With your help, this kitten has a real chance at a pain-free, happy life.
Every dollar helps cover:
• Vet exam & diagnostic tests
• Eye treatment or surgery if needed
• Medication for infection/ringworm
• Food & kitten formula to help him gain weight
Your donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser helps just as much by getting more eyes on his story.
Let’s give this baby the chance he deserves. Thank you for caring and helping me save him. ❤️
