Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago, I rescued a litter of six kittens from the streets of The Bronx. They were tiny, vulnerable, and in need of urgent care. Since then, I’ve been working around the clock to get them healthy and ready for adoption.
This weekend, I brought them upstate to The Pretty Paw Lounge, a cat café where they’ll have the space to run, play, and grow until they find their forever homes. The moment they settled in, they were already chasing toys and charming everyone. Pretty Paw Lounge even posted them on Instagram the same day!
I know some people might ask: “Why a cat café instead of a shelter?”
Here’s the truth:
Local shelters are completely maxed out. If by some miracle they had space, these kittens would be at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding.
The rescue I usually work with, Little Wanderers, is also full. I could have waited for foster openings, but that might take weeks — and fosters often can only take 2–3 kittens at a time. Meanwhile, the kittens would have been stuck in a playpen in my house (I don’t have a spare room).
The Pretty Paw Lounge has the space to take all six kittens together, right away, and they’ll have the freedom to play, socialize, and be adopted much faster.
It’s truly the best outcome for them — but making it happen comes with significant costs.
Here’s the breakdown for the six kittens:
Spay/Neuter: $200 per kitten × 6 = $1,200
Testing (FeLV/FIV, etc.): $65 per kitten × 6 = $390
Flea Treatments: $100 total
Food, litter, medications, and supplies: $400 total
That’s a total of $2,090 needed to make sure these kittens are healthy, safe, and fully prepared for adoption.
Every donation and share helps bring us closer to that goal. Thanks to your support so far, these kittens are safe, loved, and one step closer to their forever homes.
