Urgent Rescue of Sari Abusharar's Young Family
Donation protected
My name is Muhammad Shahab Ahmed, a Pakistan-American living in Michigan, USA. I am urgently seeking assistance to get my dear friend Sari Abusharar’s family evacuated to safety from the Gaza strip. They have endured unfathomable hardship since October 2023 after being displaced from their home in the Tal-Alhawa neighborhood in northern Gaza, and are fortunate to be still alive.
I have known Sari since 2008, when he was my roommate and we were both involved in academia at the University of Kansas. Sari went on to relinquish his USA permanent residence and returned to Gaza to settle down, marry, and start a family. He has a beautiful family of six consisting of his wife, Ehsan, and their four young kids, Waleed (11yrs), Kinda (8yrs), Naya (6yrs), and Mohammed (4yrs). In addition Sari also looks after his parents, Walid (76 yrs) and Sabah(64 yrs), who suffer from chronic kidney failure requiring dialysis and diabetes respectively.

Until October 2023, Sari was an associate professor at the University of Palestine while his wife, Ehsan, was working as a design engineer in the Buildings Department of the Palestinian Ministry of Education. On Sunday, October 15th, 2023, they were displaced under fire, leaving everything behind. Subsequently, they have evacuated to multiple locations, including Nusairat, Burij, Dair-albalah, Zawaida, and Almawasi, desperately searching for a safe haven. Unfortunately, their apartment, located in Ashghal Tower 2, was bombed with missiles and was severely damaged and rendered uninhabitable. Their neighborhood in northern Gaza lays in ruins, constantly bombarded, with no permission for anyone to return.
Sari used to be an Associate Professor at University of Palestine, which has been destroyed and all staff has not been paid since the war started:

On June 8, 2024, they had another narrow escape from death when their transitory shelter in Nusairat was hit by missiles during an Israeli raid, further increasing their misery and helplessness. Though they couldn't be more thankful that they are alive and unhurt.
Sari's temporary shelter in Nusairat Camp after being hit by missile:

Currently, they face the grim reality of having no home, no reliable source of food or water, no medicine, no work, and living under the constant threat of fire and bombardments. In our efforts to rescue them from this terrifying situation, we are working on their evacuation to Egypt while simultaneously pursuing visas to the USA through the Permanent Labor Certification Program. The permanent labor certification issued by the Department of Labor (DOL) allows an employer to hire a foreign worker to work permanently in the United States.
The amount asked in the fundraiser will cover the fees and expenses required to evacuate Sari’s entire family to Egypt. Time is of the essence, and every moment without intervention carries the risk of further trauma and loss of lives. I appeal to you to consider donating a small amount which will go a long way in saving desperate young lives and give them hope for semblance of a safe and normal life. Please share this worthy cause with others too.
Note: Once the funds target is reached, the collected amount will be wired to Sari and Ehsan via international bank to bank wire money transfers. Throughout this year we have been able to wire aid money collected by our friends to Sari and he has relentlessly organized hot meals distribution drives among the displaced in Gaza.
