Hi everyone….I’ve spoken directly with many of you already. My heart is heavy and hopeful as some dear close family friends have experienced an unexpected and urgent crisis.
As a community, I’m asking you to consider making a gesture of financial support. Also, if you know of a spanish speaking therapist and/or spanish speaking attorney who would be willing to support, please have them contact me….your generosity can make a profound difference for my dear friend and her 11 year old son.
Due to the sensitive nature of the hardship the details cannot be broadcasted publicly. My goal is to raise $10,000 in support of their short term financial needs….
This family will need 4-5k in the next week for urgent litigation/legal consultation. Other examples of financial support include food, rent, and medical costs (primarily for trauma-informed psychotherapy). As the family gives me permission to share more details, I definitely will.
Many thanks to those of you who have already offered to help…and to everyone for considering. Your kindness ensures this dear family has access to some desperately needed support…and it reminds them not only that their suffering matters, but also that healing and recovery are possible…a higher power and lots of big hearted people hold this with them (even if the details are sparse).
