Be Part of Mandy's Fight!

Those who know Amanda "Mandy" Kaaa know that she is the first one to jump at any opportunity to help, give, and contribute, no matter the person or circumstances. It's who she is at her core. She is the strongest girl with the sweetest soul that lights up every room she walks into. Mandy is my best friend that I have had the pleasure of knowing and growing up with for 21+ years. Our moms are also best friends, and so are our sisters. We are all family.

Many of you don't know (because she would never want attention drawn to herself), but on her 23rd birthday, December 21st 2024, Mandy was diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She had some unexplainable pain in her upper chest and neck area. Mandy has always been very in tune with her body and knew something was off so she took herself to Urgent Care, where she was then sent to the ER, and that is where she started a journey none of us could have fathomed.

A PET scan confirmed that the cancer is located in her collar bone region and interior of her chest, and fortunately has not spread lower than her sternum. Mandy will undergo standard chemotherapy for 16 weeks, which consists of “ABVD” (4 chemotherapy drugs) being administered once every 2 weeks.

Mandy has an incredibly positive prognosis. It is the best case we could've asked for. This will be a testimony, a season, a story to be told decades from now. She'll tell her story and what it taught her, how it changed her, and how it made her stronger.

Mandy is supposed to start chemotherapy next week...but today, her oncologist advised her to freeze her eggs before starting, to preserve her fertility. The procedure and process required to do this is $10k and not covered by insurance. Young women are encouraged to freeze their eggs prior to starting chemotherapy because of the possible risk of infertility due to the damage it can do the ovaries, which can cause them to stop releasing eggs and producing estrogen.

Mandy is a vibrant, healthy young woman who has a lifetime ahead of her and desires to raise a family. Let's help her do that. Be a part of her future. Be the reason she's able to increase her chance to have a natural and healthy future with pregnancy being a piece of her story.

All funds beyond the immediate need of $10k will be contributed toward all other medical expenses and/or expenses incurred while Mandy is unable to work as much as usual, due to her treatment.
