My name is Julie and this is my dad Glenn Gallagher. We just lost our house in the Dixie Fire on Weds, Aug. 4th in Greenville California. As we struggle to face this loss of our family home, we are also forced to figure out the basic life issues that arise after displacement.

My dad is elderly and retired, living on a fixed income, so the option to rent a house is not feasible for him financially. But, we do have a plan to buy him a trailer or RV, so he can have a home and some stability until we can rebuild. We estimate an trailer to cost between 7,000 -10,000. This would give him the option of staying in his community, while also giving us the time to access the insurance claims (which can take up to a year or more). We need this to happen in the next 30 days, so there is a sense of urgency here.
