Imagine losing everything you own in a single, terrifying moment. On August 26, 2026, a sudden and catastrophic glacial collapse triggered massive flash floods across Nepal. Within minutes, roaring waters swept away entire villages, homes, and livelihoods. Over 1100 people have died.

This isn't a distant tragedy for us at The Burrow, Cherrybrook. Members of our own Burrow team, and people in our Cherrybrook community are from Nepal and have been directly or indirectly affected by this disaster - worrying about family, friends and hometowns caught up in the devastation.

As a small local business, we can't fix this - but we can do something. The Burrow Cherrybrook is raising funds for Mitra Samaj - a local not for profit NGO based in Nepal, who have teams on the ground right now delivering clean water, shelter, first aid, education and psychological support to affected families. Every dollar raised goes directly to Mitra Samaj.

More than 4,400 people are still missing, and thousands of families have been left displaced, sleeping in temporary shelters with nothing but the clothes on their backs.The scale of this disaster is heartbreaking, but the resilience of the Nepalese people is unwavering.

Right now, survivors urgently need the most basic human necessities to get through the coming days.We are launching this campaign to provide immediate, on-the-ground relief to the families hardest hit by this tragedy. Every single dollar raised through this page will go directly toward purchasing and distributing critical supplies, including:

Emergency food packs (rice, lentils, oil, and clean drinking water)

Medical kits to prevent waterborne illnesses and treat injuries

Temporary shelter materials like blankets, tarpaulins, and hygiene kits

Long-term rebuilding support for families who have lost their homes completely.
