URGENT RELIEF FOR MISS LILY AND THE NEGRIL, JAMAICA COMMUNITY

Friends,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts as Jamaica faces devastating losses from Hurricane Melissa. The damage is severe — homes destroyed, communities without power or clean water, and countless families struggling to meet even their most basic needs. The road to recovery will take months, even years. As many of you know, we have deep connections with Jamaica, the country, the culture and most importantly, the people.

We are collecting donations for our dear friend Frances Johnson, lovingly known as “Miss Lily”, who is not only family to us, but a cornerstone of her community — a caretaker, church member, and trusted neighbor who has always given to others. Now she and her community need our help. She is without water, electricity, and gas. We worry about her sustaining her family and her community.

Time is of the essence. The most vulnerable are at immediate risk. We are preparing the first wave of relief: barrels filled with essentials, generators, and funds to help rebuild roofs and basic structures.

If you can contribute — monetary donations, supplies, or shipping support — every bit will make a real difference. There are also other great organizations that need support - The American Friends of Jamaica specify “Breds” to help those in need in Treasure Beach, and also the Tryall Fund, https://tryallclub.com to help those in the Hanover area.

However, if you can contribute to help Miss Lily and those in the West End Road neighborhood in Negril Jamaica, that would be great!

Together, we can help Jamaica recover, one family at a time. In the true spirit of Jamaica’s motto, “Out of Many, One People,” may we stand united in compassion and strength — many hearts coming together as one.
