Support Derek and His Daughter After the Eaton Fire.
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters, My name is Derek James, and I’m reaching out to you during an unimaginably challenging time. The devastating Eaton Fire has forced my daughter and me to evacuate from our Altadena, California, home. The damage has been extensive, leaving us—and many others—displaced and in urgent need. We had to evacuate with only a few essentials, leaving behind most of our belongings. Currently, we find ourselves without necessities—food, clothing, deodorant, and toothbrushes—and we are urgently seeking funds for temporary housing as we navigate this crisis. I am a renter without homeowners or renters insurance, the burden of this tragedy weighs heavily on us. The aftermath of the Eaton Fire has been catastrophic, with downed power lines, fallen trees, gas leaks, and burned buildings. We anticipate that it may take six months to a year before we can return home. I’m grateful that my daughter and I are safe; the road to recovery is daunting. I've created this GoFundMe account to seek your support during this difficult time. Your generous contributions will provide us with immediate relief and assist us in navigating the uncertainty ahead. I ahead. These are tough times for everyone, and I truly appreciate any support you can offer—whether through donations or by sharing this campaign with others. Every little bit helps us rebuild our lives and heal. Thank you for standing with us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Derek James
