URGENT! Reclaiming Racquelle Fund

Donation protected
Racquelle Trammell is an activist, mother, organizer, and beloved member of the Trans & Non-Binary community. Known also as Miss Mouthy for her Spirit of Detroit Award winning podcast that centers the experiences of Trans & Non-Binary people and those who support us. Racquelle has been a beacon of light for the community and it is critical that we support and uplift her.

On December 22nd, just days before Christmas and the New Year, Racquelle was forced to flee her home following an domestic violence altercation that ultimately ended in an attack on her friend, physical and emotional harm done to Racquelle, and threats to end her life. In an effort to protect her life and distance herself from the promise of violence, Racquelle fled her home with her friend, leaving the assailant in her home.

At that time, every room in her home was destroyed. From furniture and electronics, mirrors and glass broken, urine in her plants, to a broken dining room table, holes in her walls, and family pictures that cannot be replaced; The home that she has worked to build has been taken from her. In addition to the damage done to her home, damage was done to her vehicle, leaving three of her tires slashed and additional damage done that will require consultation with a mechanic. While a PPO (Personal Protection Order) was granted, the assailant remains free, exacerbating the need for personal protection that will provide some peace of mind against the threats of fatal violence.

In this new year, and just days out from the first of the month, it is URGENT that we build awareness of this fund so Racquelle can begin the process of rebuilding her home, and car. To uplift and support our sister it is essential that we as a community come together to ease some of the burden that Racquelle faces as a result of this traumatic situation.

WAYS TO SUPPORT
  • Share this fund! Friends, Family, and Social Media. Building awareness of this fund will increase engagement and allow Racquelle the ability to focus on rebuilding
  • Support the Miss Mouthy Podcast, which centers the experience of Trans & Non-Binary people and those who support the community, available on all streaming platforms and YouTube.
  • Educate yourself on IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) and DV. Violence against Transgender people is at an all time high, and it is critical that we educate ourselves and each other to protect our communities. The 2015 U.S. Trans Survey reported 54% of respondents had experienced IPV in their lifetime.
