In the meantime, my friend has had the misfortune of allowing the phone of a policeman, which he had borrowed, to fall to the ground; he was trembling so much. That has added the cost of an expensive repair, and I am increasing my funding goal accordingly.
My name is Hanns-André. I have supported a friend of mine, who is staying in Amman, Jordan, with a complicated cancer and heart treatment, which has included the installation of an artificial heart. Unfortunately, some days ago, his heart has slipped and got slightly damaged. The hospital is asking for advance payment of about 310 Euro, and my personal funds are used up. The procedure of replacing the heart has already been performed on warranty, and the +- 310 Euro are just a contribution of the patient. Unfortunately, the hospital is asking for the money to be paid by the coming Tuesday 14th of April and has already informed the local court about it. If the bill is not paid, my friend is sent to jail, where he is likely to die in his current condition.
With regard to the bill for the treatment, it is with the court, and a copy is not issued. Again, that's common practice in Jordan once the issuer of the bill is enforcing the payment via the police. An older medical report is attached.
So, please support this cause in order to save my friend's life and to prevent all our efforts to be in vain! If the campaign is successful, I am going to collect the money and send it preferably Tuesday evening.
PS: Apparently Jordan is the only country worldwide that is practicing 'dept imprisonment', i.e. the incarceration of people who are unable to pay dept for whatever reason.
I have added the money for new glasses and for a beeper that is warning if you are sleeping on the stomach - the latter was the reason for the recent problem with the heart.

Inzwischen hat mein Bekannter das Unglück gehabt, das Telefon eines Polizisten, das er ausgeliehen hatte, fallen zu lassen; so sehr war er wohl am zittern - das kostet inzwischen eine teure Reparatur. Ich erneuere daher meinen Aufruf.
mein Name ist Hanns-André. Ich unterstütze einen Freund, der sich in Amman, Jordanien, aufhält und dort eine komplizierte Krebs- und Herzbehandlung durchmacht, die auch die Implantation eines Kunstherzens umfasste. Leider ist sein Herz vor einigen Tagen verrutscht und leicht beschädigt worden. Das Krankenhaus verlangt eine Vorauszahlung von etwa 310 Euro, und meine Ersparnisse sind aufgebraucht. Die Herztransplantation selbst wurde bereits im Rahmen der Garantie durchgeführt, die rund 310 Euro sind lediglich ein Eigenanteil des Patienten. Das Krankenhaus verlangt die Zahlung bis zum kommenden Dienstag, dem 14. April, und hat das Gericht bereits informiert. Sollte die Rechnung nicht beglichen werden, droht meinem Freund Gefängnis, wo er in seinem jetzigen Zustand wahrscheinlich sterben wird.
Die Rechnung für die Behandlung liegt beim Gericht, und es wird keine Kopie ausgestellt. Das ist in Jordanien üblich, sobald der Rechnungssteller die Zahlung über die Polizei eintreibt. Ein älterer Patientenbericht ist beigefügt.
Bitte unterstützt dieses Anliegen, um das Leben meines Freundes zu retten und zu verhindern, dass all unsere Bemühungen umsonst waren! Wenn die Spendenaktion erfolgreich ist, werde ich das Geld einsammeln und es möglichst am Dienstagabend überweisen.
PS: Jordanien ist weltweit das einzige Land, das 'dept imprisonment' praktiziert, d.h. die Einkerkerung von Leuten, die aus irgendwelchen Gründen ihre Schulden nicht bezahlen können.
Ich habe das Geld für eine neue Brille hinzugefügt, und für einen Beeper, der warnt, wenn man auf dem Bauch schläft - das war der Grund für das Problem mit dem Herzen.
