Hi everyone, thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to read this.

I’m asking for help.

My poor  girl was feeling ill on Thursday evening after coming home from the dog park. Her conditions got worse over the next two days (she stopped eating, started vomiting acid from not eating, she became completely lethargic, and developed jaundice). I brought her to the veterinarian Sunday noon and they ran full scans and bloodwork. They quickly called me back and informed me that her kidney and liver levels were high and created cause for concern. She came back positive with Anaplasma and they were also (85%) certain that she has Leptospirosis (because of the results that all aligned with it and she did not have her second booster shot for it. They informed me I had two options: one, to continue treating her with the antibiotics they provided me (vet said her conditions aren’t well at all, and it may not even help) and run the risk she may be exposed to long term liver and kidney problems or two, bring her to the ER. They mentioned it’s an expensive treatment and typically is around (4-6k), but she’ll surely recover with a 95% chance.
So Monday evening, I brought her to the ER to get treated. The Vet called me as soon as her results came in and told me she’s in critical care and only has a 50% chance of making it through. The virus infected her internal systems especially her liver and kidneys. The first two days of treatment will be $3,508, every night after will be $1,500. She'll have to stay 6-7 days under intensive care. She has high hopes as her liver and kidney have not shut down, still urinating, and walking. She has always been a healthy and fit dog.
I brought Alexa home at two months, she’ll be two on (March 21st). I still can’t fathom the impact she’s already had in my life. From every hike, rafting, going to the beach, lake, dog park, and going on our 4x daily walks. She has given me so much and I’d do anything for her. I just want to make sure she gets to live the fullest life she deserves, that’s only the goal.

I know this has been a difficult time for everyone due to the pandemic, so I ask if you can’t donate, even a repost/share is greatly appreciated. It would really mean a lot to me. Please keep Alexa in your prayers. Thank you!
