Urgent: Please help prevent Homelessness for my Family

Please help me and my kids from being homeless this Christmas. Here I am. Doing one of the most humbling things ever by starting my own GoFundMe.

I know it's the holidays, and this economy is outrageous, but I found out Friday (only by the Grace of God) that my landlord put me in evictions court, and I still haven't received official notifocation from them. I have 4 days to raise the money in order for my children and I to stay homed, before Christmas.

I've already had to tell my children Christmas presents would be sparse this year, but what I don't want to have to do, is tell them we have to move with nowhere to go, right before Christmas.

I have requested help from DHHS, but I cannot entrust them with something so time sensitive. They told me Friday that they'd "assign someone to handle my case this week." Then they told me that I have to be legally evicted before they will help. We absolutely need help and asap. Please, even $5, shoot a dollar, anything helps. I have exhausted all my other avenues and options.

This was an abrupt, unjust and inaccurate move by my housing organization, and I am not only scared, but very disappointed that they didn't bother telling me, especially when I just received notice in September that I had a month of rent credit. So how the heck did they come up with this new number only 6 weeks later? And what if DHHS didn't find the court motion? Would I have missed evictions court and been thrown out? Probably. But luckily, that's not what happened and I have to opportunity to ask for help.

So that's what I am doing. Asking for help during the worst time of the year to do so. Please help. I've been in this house, for better for worse, for 8 years. This is the only home my children and I know. This whole thing is shocking and terrifying.
