Urgent Plea: Tabette Needs Your Help
Donation protected
My name is Amy, and for just over 2 years, I've dedicated myself to the often-unseen world of Brooklyn's community cats, providing medical care and support. My heart aches for these vulnerable creatures, and my mission is driven by a desire to prevent their suffering.
The pale-nosed cats of Ovington Avenue hold a particular concern. I witnessed the agonizing journey of one cat, Nosey, who eventually succumbed to nose cancer, a disease that can be particularly painful and cruel. That experience ignited a fire in me: I vowed to do everything in my power to protect others from that same fate.
That's why I was so worried about Tabette.
In January, I noticed a small spot on her nose. Unlike a simple scratch, it lingered, an ominous sign I couldn't ignore. I trapped Tabette – thankfully, she was already spayed and ear-tipped, a testament to previous, often unsung, rescue efforts – and rushed her to a veterinarian with expertise in the unique health challenges of the colony.
The vet's examination revealed a double blow: Not only was the vet also concerned about the spot on Tabette's nose, the cat is also in severe pain from rotten teeth. Extraction was urgently needed, not only to alleviate her suffering, but also to prevent further complications that could weaken her.
The cost of this essential care – the diagnostics, the potential cancer treatment, and the necessary dental surgery – is daunting: nearly $1600. It's a sum that stretches far beyond my current resources, but Tabette's life and well-being hang in the balance.
This is where I need your help.
Every dollar donated will go directly towards giving Tabette the medical care she desperately needs. Your generosity will help us:
Thoroughly investigate the spot on her nose to determine the best course of action.
Address her severe dental disease, relieving her pain and preventing further health issues.
Give her a chance at a healthy, comfortable future.
But this isn't just about Tabette. Any funds raised beyond her immediate needs will be used to support the ongoing medical care and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts for the entire Ovington Avenue colony. Your contribution will help us:
- Provide medical treatment to other cats in need.
- Control the colony's population humanely.
- Create a healthier, safer environment for these vulnerable animals.
Please, open your heart and give what you can. Tabette's life, and the well-being of the Ovington Avenue colony, depend on it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
