Urgent Fund Raising Plea

As most of you will be aware, last Monday a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the Türkiye-Syrian border region, causing utter devastation.

The number of deaths in Türkiye is estimated to be over 30,000 and rising. The situation is desperate, with the additional challenges of disease rapidly spreading due to extreme conditions, a lack of life-saving supplies, and freezing temperatures.

Homeless survivors are needing urgent supplies of:-

Food

Water

Baby powder milk

Baby food

Sanitary & hygiene items

Clothes

Blankets

Shelter

Medical supplies and so much more

Andrea, a trained carer and key worker who works at Home Instead and Adrian, both living in Kirklevingon and volunteers of Crystal Haven, are flying out to Türkiye next Wednesday, to put their many skills, love, guidance and care into action.

Andrea, Adrian and Jayne (also a volunteer here, and now taking responsibility for urgent fund-raising) have close friends in Türkiye, one of those friends sharing harrowing accounts from the front line, a woman in the street waiting for news of her children, offering a stranger her car in exchange for a bottle of water, a man dying under rubble asking aid workers to cut off his hand as his daughter would not let go of him. These are just two tragic human stories of the many more heard.

So now we are reaching out to you, asking you to please, please give whatever you can into the fund-raising pot, money that will enable Adrian to purchase life-saving items in Türkiye, for immediate delivery, while Andrea tends to the injured and traumatised survivors.

We will update you with news when we can.

Please be assured that every penny raised will be utilised for those who need it most, cutting out the middle man and admin costs
