Urgent: Perry's Eyes Need Your Help
Donation protected
I have a beautiful one year old Sheepadoodle named Perry Mason. He's been in my life since the day he was born. I took care of him and his litter mates from 3 weeks old until they went to their new homes, and he's the one I developed a bond with. He's my best friend and is my emotional support, so I need to do everything I can to help him, because he's helped me in so many ways.
I took him to the vet recently due to having stomach issues and he had a bacterial infection. While I was there, I asked the vet if he could look at my boy’s eyes, because he’s had issues with them almost his whole life. I legitimately thought he was suffering from allergies. They get red and watery, and he always has eye gunk in the corners. On top of that, he gets a runny nose. So of course it’s gotta be allergies, right??
Well it turns out my poor boy doesn’t suffer from allergies. He actually has a condition called Entropion. The vet said that they base it off a 1 through 5 scale, with 5 being the most severe. Right now his right eye is at a 5 and his left is at a 3. Vet said that Perry will need surgery to fix it, otherwise it can cause major damage to his cornea, and can even cause vision loss if not corrected. Normally, the surgery can be in the thousands, but thanks to already seeing the only low cost vet around, he will do the surgery on both eyes for only $1200.
Unfortunately, due to my credit being impacted from late car payments, I do not qualify for Care Credit. I am currently on SDI with a limited income, and have a 17 year old daughter who is with me full time. So with finances the way they are right now, I have no way to cover the cost of the surgery. I am unable to make payments on it either, since they require payment in full on day of surgery.
He’s the sweetest boy you will ever come across, and everyone in my complex just loves him (he makes sure to go out of his way to say hi to them when we go for walks). I can't not try to get help in any way I can for him, he's my baby and I can't bear the thought of anything bad happening, so I have to do everything I can.
Please if you can help, I would be beyond grateful. Even if you can't donate, sharing it as much as you can helps so much.
(I am asking for a bit more, due to fees, meds, and anything extra he may need to make him comfortable post surgery.)
