Hello, I’m Kammah, mom to my beautiful daughter Penny. Penny requires highly specialized formula as well as medical equipment for her g-tube in order to grow and thrive. We are struggling to make ends meet in order to have her durable medical equipment shipped to us, the only way to feed her.

Our durable medical equipment company had not been requiring payment to ship out previous orders (except for, weirdly, once). However, upon trying to place this month’s delivery, it was relayed to us that we needed to pay out of pocket the amount of the order, a staggering $1,200 that we needed to come up with in a week before her formula ran out. Currently she has five days of formula and shipments take time to come in.

To say that this is an emergency for our family, and those we could immediately ask for help, is an understatement. My mother is considering selling jewelry that she has had for decades. We are trying to make her formula last by mixing it with olive oil, with the guidance of our nutritionist. My husband is continuing to sell his Magic cards, cards he has collected and cherished for years.

We are in dire, dire straights this month until we hit our insurance’s individual deductible, which should occur after this order. After this order, our insurance pays 70% of the cost, bringing our total to $300+ a month, which is also a financial burden that we were not expecting or planning for in our budget.

We are humbly asking for $2,500 to give us the ability to pay this urgent bill and to give us some breathing room in her subsequent orders. We will also use this money to pay copays for her ongoing feeding, language, and physical therapies, therapies that she has required for years and that we’ve always struggled to pay.

I am currently desperately looking for a job after almost 4 years of having the honor of staying at home with Penny and watching her grow. We hope that things will not always be this hard but things are very, very hard right now and ask that you help if you are willing and able to.

We also understand and respect that many people who care for us, and especially Penny, might not be in a place to donate.
