Urgent: Patches' Owner Died & Needs Your Help

An update on Patches: He's been to the vet twice, and there's good news -- his recent bloodwork looks good which means we can fully groom him under sedation soon! You might notice that he's now half shaved, but the matting of his fur is so severe and painful that it can only be addressed under sedation. Oh, and he needs to be neutered. There's also an anal gland issue that can only be assessed under sedation, and we are unsure about the condition of his skin under the matting.

We're grateful for his foster mom and all supporters so far - THANK YOU! But Patches still has a long journey ahead. We urgently need more donations to cover his upcoming appointments and ongoing care.

Urgent Help Needed!

Meet Patches, a senior Shih Tzu in desperate need of your support. Patches' life took a dramatic turn when his owner passed away suddenly, leaving him in uncertain hands. We've stepped in to help him, but we can't do it alone.

Patches' Story:

Patches lived in a rooming house in Toronto until his owner's untimely passing. A kind housemate took care of him, but when the house was sold, Patches was left behind. Another kind soul got in touch with us today to advocate for Patches on behalf of the housemate, and we agreed to take Patches in. He's now suffering from matted fur, the smell of smoke, discomfort from mats causing him to limp, as well as eye and dental issues.

We urgently need to raise $5000 to cover these vital expenses and give Patches a new and healthy life. Dental work alone will be costly, on top of needing a neuter surgery, skin issues from hair matting, nutrition deficiency and other ailments he has suffered through.
