URGENT: neglected 4wk old Chihuahua

URGENT PUPPY RESCUE

It takes a lot to shake us, but this one has us enraged.

A neighbor reported their family member had purchased a 4-week-old Chihuahua puppy that was in critical condition.

The breeder sold the puppies at 4 weeks old "because the mom has mange and the puppies will catch it if they stay with her any longer."

The puppy was left alone outside in the cardboard box, in the sun and in the cool night, because they didn't want him to poop inside. He went without food or water for 24 hours because he "didn't ask" to be fed.

Over the past few days, they have tried feeding formula, but the dog continues to have issues eating and pooping. His poop has been infested with worms. He's barely eaten or defecated over the past 5 or so days.

We have been able to convince them to surrender him, as they are claiming they cannot afford vet care. He is heading to the hospital as soon as they open. Vet bills are unknown, but we are prepping for him to possibly be hospitalized for a few weeks, so that can double as a quarantine.
