Wow. It’s been awhile since an update. In addition to her ongoing cancer treatment, Lori landed in the ER for stomach pain. Her gallbladder is now a thing of the past. Unfortunately, time off for the surgery and recovery in the midst of all of the cancer management has impacted her income significantly.

She is starting the process for a bone marrow transplant to happen in the next couple months at which time she cannot work for approximately 3 months.

Please give what you can.

UPDATE #2

The results of Lori's last scan show the chemo treatments did not work as expected. It worked some. But she is not cured. She will now undergo more testing. She also requires a doctor at a more major hospital; not where she lives. Her more advanced treatment will require more time away from work than previous treatments too. Please consider helping her so she can continue to provide for her 3 kids she is raising on her own.

UPDATE

Lori has finished the second round of chemotherapy. She’s been having reactions to the treatment which makes each round a longer process. A rough aspect of this has been lumbar puncture chemo treatments that are particularly painful. Hopefully they will work out the pain management for the upcoming treatments.

As expected, she has lost all of her hair. So far it takes about a week to feel better after treatments.

In all of this, her car has given it’s all. After several “repairs” the shop has declared it not fixable. Her brother has helped her with this.

So the family is without reliable transportation, and Lori is looking in earnest for an appropriate replacement.

Our goal included this car issue, and we all know that we are in it for the long haul. So many of you have already been so generous. Thank you.

Lori has recently learned that she has Stage 4 double hit diffuse large B cell lymphoma.

April 1 she called and asked me to help her get to the ER due to pain in her back. She has been on a roller coaster ever since.

Lori has dedicated her career to teaching private flute lessons to hundreds of students over the years. With her chemotherapy she will have an interruption in her income.

You might know that Lori is the sole parent for three children.

Chester, who is a college student. Pearl, who will graduate from high school this year.

Rose, who is a freshman in high school.
