Hi, thanks for reading this. I urgently need help. I've been working in IT since 2010, but after my last contract ended in September 2025, I've had immense trouble finding a new job. I've spent the last several months applying for jobs. I've had interviews every few weeks, but they haven't worked out yet. Frustratingly most recruiters who reach out are for positions that end up being for a different location than I can commute to, or another state. Some places have said that since I've mostly worked as a contractor for the last decade or so, they don't want to hire me. Most times though, I just hear nothing back, so I have no feedback.
I'm a good employee, with years of experience in the field and glowing feedback, but it seems like the industry is too saturated due to worker displacement. I also don't have a car or license, which severely limits what jobs I'm able to take. I’ve relied on public transportation, and had several remote jobs since before the pandemic.
I need help to be able to cover my basic living expenses. Basically food, rent, and utilities. I have some unemployment benefits, but this is my last benefit week, leaving me completely unsupported and with no job to support me. I'm hoping to raise 5k to help me stay on my feet for another two months while I continue to look for work. My rent is $1070, the rest is all internet, utilities, cell service, and catching up on bills I'm behind on.
While I hate asking for help like this, I'm at my wits end. Things are getting desperate. Thank you again for reading. Please consider sharing this if you're able to, even if you can't donate directly. I've heard it helps a lot.
Thank you for your aid,
- Tony
