Urgent Need for Surgery for Billy Sharpe

       I am going to keep this short and sweet. My father was in an accident in May 2019, in which he was hit by an 18-wheeler, logging truck. The past two years, he has been through physical therapy, numerous surgeries, injections, and a series of what I like to call medical “hula hoops”. It has taken a toll on his body and mind, but Glory be to God, it was all paid for. Those resources have now been exhausted. Because of this, he no longer has the job he so faithfully served for more than 30 years. My mother also lost the job she so faithfully served for over 30 years, June 2021. Consequently, they lost all health insurance. BUT THEY HAVN’T LOST THEIR FAITH!

       In July, he started losing feeling in his hands, arms, and legs. Remember, they have no health insurance, so he tried to “work it out” himself because let’s face it, a trip to a neurosurgeon isn’t cheap and it sure isn’t free. Every day, it gets worse and worse, so he caved and finally went to the doctor. He had no other choice. According to the neurosurgeon and an expensive MRI, his spinal cord is closing in on itself and he needs emergency surgery. This is called an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. The doctor cannot promise that he will get the feeling back, but he can operate and make sure that it will not get any worse. Otherwise, my dad is inevitably facing a life of being paralyzed.

       He needs surgery on October 29, and they want $24,333.18 down before they can operate on him, in a little over a month, with the possibility of his surgery being moved up in the event of a cancellation. My daddy and momma have done nothing but help people their entire life. They have let countless people live with them in time of need, financially assisted more families and individuals than I can count, supported churches and missions, given their time and love, and I know God can and will return the love back to them.

       When he first got hurt, God gave me this verse for him. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Isaiah 10:27.
