Urgent need for shelter - Buduburam refugee camp

Donation protected
As many of you may know, many years ago I spent about 6 months in a Liberian refugee camp working with an NGO called Children Better Way. Don't picture a "camp." This was a thriving community with schools and churches and home-grown charities. The people I met were resilient, creative and entrepreneurial. Buduburam was their home.

A few weeks ago, the government of Ghana rather abruptly and unceremoniously bulldozed the camp. You can see some news articles here and here .

Amid so many other conflicts and humanitarian crises, this one has been under-covered. There's so much need in the world, but this one is close to my heart and I hope I can convince you to help.

I have been supporting some of the Buduburam children (10 children) by helping with their school fees. But now these families are huddled in churches with their homes destroyed and doing homework by candlelight. I am hoping to raise some funds to help them have more housing stability to get back on their feet. Anything you can contribute will be enormously helpful.

Here are some of the mothers of the children who are asking for help. They are doing everything they can to educate their children and amid this they no longer have a place to call home. They have reached out to ask for help and I hope you can see it in your heart to give something.

Thanks so much for reading this! If you cannot help at this time, please considering passing this along to your networks.
