Urgent MRI Needed to help aid Waylan's Recovery

Hello, my name is Kimberyle and I am reaching out with humility to ask for help with my dog Waylan. He is sick and we aren’t sure what’s happening to him.

On day one, he was very lethargic and unhappy. He wouldn’t get excited to go outside or excited to eat like normal. He would walk around with his head down and at times had very heavy breathing.

The same morning, I was able to get him seen on an emergency at Palm Springs Animal Hospital.

They took X-rays and a blood panel and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They sent him home with antibiotics to see if it would help, and by the next morning, he was back to himself.

I was relieved, thinking everything was going to be okay!

Two weeks later, we woke up at 4 in the morning to him having a seizure.

We made him an appointment at his primary vet but couldn’t get in for another 4 weeks, which was okay because I was familiar with seizures and I would document them.

If he was constantly having them, I would go to an emergency vet.

Another 2 weeks went by, and he started to decline again—not eating, very sluggish. But this time, he started not being able to walk. He would fall over to his side; he didn’t have any balance. We had to help him eat and go potty. Progressively he now has lost some function in the left side of his face . He doesn’t chew much , he’ll try and then swallow, He’s been eating shredded small pieces of chicken or baby food . He’s constantly drooling from

a loose jowl , and that eye has also lost some function blinking, we now have meds to keep his eye lubricated.

I was able to get into my primary vet the next day after my plea.

More tests later, 2 full days of being hospitalized, hooked on IVs, steroids, and antibiotics given again, we still don’t have any answers.

His primary finally said it was time he sees a neurology specialist.

I’m mentally preparing myself for what is ahead, but at the moment, I’ve exhausted almost all of my financial options and I still need to be ready for any possible surgery expenses or treatments later to come.

But right now, what I need help with is, the first neurology visit. All of his previous testing

will be sent over but He’ll need an MRI done of his brain and that alone costs 4,000+

I need help getting over this hump to find answers.

So please, if you can, whatever you are able to donate or if you can only share, I would be so very grateful.

No matter what, I won’t give up , I have to do everything I can to save him and if that means swallowing my pride and asking for help , here I am
