My name is Bagas, and I currently live in Los Angeles with my partner Jaiden, our roommate Aurora, and our cat Nimbus.

Aurora is a trans woman, and she moved here to pursue her education and career in a more open-minded and accepting environment.

Unfortunately, our hopes for safety and peace have been shattered. Since moving into our apartment, she's been targeted by the neighboring tenants in our triplex with escalating transphobic and homophobic abuse.

What started as verbal harassment has turned into death threats, threats of assault, and constant intimidation. All of this has been brought on just because of Aurora’s gender identity, and by association, ours as queer individuals. We've contacted law enforcement, but they've done nothing meaningful to protect us.

We are living in fear, Aurora is terrified for her life, and Jaiden and I are scared too. We are desperate to get out before something even worse happens.

Currently we’re looking to move to a safer area by October. However the reality is we’ve only just moved into this apartment two months ago. We can’t afford another deposit and other essentials + rent this soon, but this is an emergency.

This is a plea for a second chance at safety. A chance to live peacefully as queer people, without harassment or fear. Every single dollar you can spare will go toward securing a living situation where we can all feel safe. No one deserves to be punished for living authentically, and wanting peace.
