MILA NEEDS YOU!
Hi, my name is Calysta, and I’m fundraising for my sweet cat Mila.
Mila is my best friend and my first pet. She has been with me through some of the hardest and happiest times in my life. She is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, a little diva who fills my days with so much love and light. She has been there for me when I was depressed and lost, and I truly feel like I wouldn’t have been able to get through nursing school without her.
Mila’s health journey
Since February, Mila has been dealing with extremely painful urinary symptoms. She seemed uncomfortable and in pain, crying in the litter box, and there was even blood in her urine. Each time I brought her to the vet, I was told it was just a urinary tract infection. She was given two rounds of antibiotics, and for a while I hoped she was getting better, but something still didn’t feel right.
As a full-time nursing student in my final semester, I have been balancing school, clinicals, and finances. After weeks of saving, I was finally able to afford a urinalysis and an X-ray. That is when we found out the real reason Mila was still suffering. She has bladder stones and needs urgent surgery.
What the vet said
The vet told me that without this surgery, Mila is at risk for a serious urinary obstruction. This could become life-threatening if left untreated. She is already in immense pain, and things will only get worse without medical intervention.
Why I’m asking for help
I graduate nursing school next week. While I have done everything I can to care for Mila on my own, the cost of this surgery is more than I can manage right now. Like many students, most of my financial resources have gone toward tuition, books, and basic living expenses. This emergency hit at the worst possible time.
Mila has stood by me through everything. Now she needs me to fight for her, and I am doing that by asking for help.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would go directly toward the cost of her surgery, medications, and follow-up care. Anything big or small helps more than you know.
Thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Mila’s story. Your kindness and support mean everything to us. I’m going to provide updates.
