Urgent Medical Treatment for Cancer

Hi,

We are Torrin and Luca, the sons of Paul Headford, and together with our mum Christine, we are seeking to raise funds for our dad and her husband, who urgently needs medical treatment that the NHS can not provide.

Our dad, who is 59, has been bravely fighting cancer for 16 years, and we are incredibly proud of his strength and resilience throughout this difficult journey.

In 2008, Dad was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma and fully recovered after spending three months in the hospital. In 2013, he had nodular melanoma removed from his left leg, and in 2016, he was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma. Shortly after, he learned it had crossed the blood-brain barrier.

In 2017, Dad underwent Gamma Knife surgery to treat 14 tumours, and in 2018, he had another round of Gamma Knife treatment, after which four small deposits remained stable for over six years.

Recently, Dad began experiencing daily headaches, prompting an MRI scan that revealed changes in the previously stable tumours. Radiotherapy was initially planned, but it was cancelled due to the spread of the tumours, diagnosed as Leptomeningeal Disease, which means the tumours are in the brain lining.

There is no specific treatment available for this condition through the NHS. However, Dad has discovered an alternative treatment available in the UK. Unfortunately, these treatments are not free and can be quite costly. We are praying to raise the necessary funds to help our dad receive this vital treatment.

We are uncomfortable asking for financial assistance but have no other options. Dad needs to start this treatment within the next six weeks or so and we humbly ask for your help.
