Michael Berhane, nicknamed Wedi Fars, is an Eritrean ex-combatant. Michael has been serving his people and country in different capacities. Firstly, he served as a teacher for more than three decades. Afterwards, he was promoted to respective positions of school director and sub-regional education supervisor. Besides, he is also an amateur artist who was able to produce and contribute scores of song melodies and lyrics. One of his famous artistic gifts to Eritrea is the song and logo of the Eritrean Teachers' Association.

Now, Michael is critically ill and is in India for medical treatment. However, as he is suffering from serious lung cancer and other attendant diseases, he is living with the help of chemotherapy and breathing assistance.

He is quite grateful to all those who may shoulder their respective social duties and help him with any amount of penny!
