Update on Jacob

Dear Friends,

We urgently seek your assistance for Jacob “Jake” Mincheff, who is battling a rare and not fully understood medical condition. Jake's situation is dire, and we need your support to ensure he gets the care he desperately needs.

The Challenge: Like so many, Jake has found himself underinsured and restricted to in-network care, which is failing him in his time of highest need. His current healthcare team recommends out-of-network specialty care as his condition is outside of their expertise. We must secure funds to make this possible without hesitation. His insurance issues will take time to resolve, time that Jake can't afford.

Jake's Condition: In just 3 months, Jake’s health has deteriorated rapidly. He is losing the ability to eat, speak without difficulty, has experienced several experiencing cardiac events, anaphylaxis, muscle pain, and weakness. Functionally, he has gone from living a normal life to 3 hospitalizations, being capable of only limited selfcare; confined to a bed or couch more than 50% of his waking hours, needing assistance with mobility, and soon will require intravenous feeding/nutrition (TPN). Given his declining health, waiting for an insurance solution until 2024 is not an option.
