Family and Friends,
Although this is something I have never done, or thought I would have to do, my family and I come asking for help. My sister, Michele Leonard Salas, is in dire need of medical treatment through Stem Cell rejuvenation.
After months of light discomfort, she and her doctor decided it was time for a CAT scan. Through that scan she has been diagnosed with severe pancreatic duct debilitation. And although she is A symptomatic, her pancreas is 80% non-functioning. This literally means that her pancreas is hard and must grow new cells to preserve function. The pancreas works each and every time we eat but unlike the liver or kidneys, there is no such thing as replacement or transplant, and we cannot survive without the pancreas.
The treatment is done in office, through an IV, which bypasses her stomach allowing the stomach to rest and release fewer enzymes. As her doctor says, “Treatment cannot wait”.
In previous patient treatments, the doctor has seen up to 70% success in treating pancreatitis through regenerative stem cell treatment, however, it is costly. When I say costly, we are talking approximately $5,000 for a quarter dose and her insurance will not cover the cost. The doctor has suggested it might cost up to $50,000 or more.
If we had the money, we would not be writing to ask for your help. As her family, we will give as much as we can. I have always said, Michele was a gift to me. She has all the patience, love, and kindness I did not get. Yes, my parents saved the best for last. She received a double dose of what the rest of us siblings split 3 ways.
Our heart breaks just knowing that her body is not functioning at the level it should, and we cannot begin to imagine how she feels. So, we come to you for help and ask that you share with anyone you might know who would be willing to donate, even one dollar.
Only God knows His plans for us, but we believe He calls us to love, support, pray and lift one another up.
