My name is Rajkumar Devjani and I am hosting this fundraiser on behalf of a multiply disabled household based in Sonipat, India comprising 3 people: S (26), C (25) and K (51). Their multiple disabilities make it impossible to secure consistent employment, so financial strain has been the norm. This has left them with no choice but to ignore multiple ongoing acute and chronic health conditions, as they have no family safety net. This campaign hopes to change that for them as they are currently undergoing flare-ups of their conditions requiring urgent medical attention.
S (26) suffers from the following chronic health conditions:
- Long COVID and ME/CFS after coming down with severe COVID pneumonia during Indiaʼs second wave in April 2021
- Avascular necrosis of both femoral heads which resulted in major core decompression surgery 2022 to remove the necrosed bone and requires consistent physiotherapy due to the development of osteoarthritis thereafter. This locomotor disability prevents them doing everyday activities like climbing the stairs and getting down on the floor.
- ADHD and autism which affects their everyday quality of life in all domains.
- Essential hypertension with no known cause for which S is on beta blockers.
- Sʼs blood sugar levels have been fluctuating wildly of late within the span of a few hours, which leaves them experiencing hypoglycaemia symptoms in the form of profuse sweating and heart palpitations, or hyperglycaemia symptoms which exacerbates their pre-existing fatigue to unbearable levels and compounds their brain fog. Their endocrinologist wants to test for Type-1 Diabetes which requires blood work and urine testing for confirmation.
C (25) experiences the following chronic and acute health conditions:
- POTS-dominant Long COVID and ME/CFS after coming down with moderate COVID during Indiaʼs second wave in April 2021. C has been an asthmatic since childhood, which has caused post-COVID sequelae to hit her extra hard. These conditions leave her facing severe periods of fatigue that doesnʼt get better with rest, dizzy spells resulting in loss of balance, elevated heart rate and palpitations.
- Asthma, which requires consistent medications in the form of inhalers and pulmonary function testing .
- Autism, which affects her everyday quality of life across all domains.
- Cervical disc dessication at the C5 and C6 spine, resulting in chronic and unbearable neck pain.
- Chronic migraines, which are very disabling, leaving her unable to even tolerate light.
- C has a pre-existing ACL reconstruction in her right knee from back in 2020 when she tore her ACL. She experienced an injury in November 2025 causing a Grade 3 meniscus tear in the same knee, requiring meniscus repair surgery. We are unsure if her government health insurance will cover the whole cost of the surgery and recovery procedures, which is compounding the uncertainty of our situation.
K (51) experiences the following chronic and acute health conditions:
- Lichen planus, an autoimmune condition which causes irritation, inflammation and lesions on the skin and oral mucous membranes, requiring consistent monitoring and medication.
- Latent tuberculosis, which may have progressed to active tuberculosis as her most recent chest xray showed opacities, requiring a HRCT for confirmation. K is also asthmatic, which leaves her in a lot of respiratory distress. In case her latent TB has progressed to an active case, this also puts the rest of the members of her household at risk of infection.
- Osteoarthritis of the knees, affecting her everyday mobility. Kʼs ability to earn is also affected by her financially abusive husband, which has led her to ignore these very urgent medical conditions for so long.
What we're raising for:
Immediate goal: ₹60,000 (~USD 650): Kʼs urgent care
This is the most time-sensitive ask. TB preventive treatment cannot be safely interrupted once started, and the HRCT needs to happen soon to rule out active lung involvement.
- TB preventive antibiotic course: ₹20,000
- Liver function tests and blood monitoring: ₹12,000
- Doctor consultations: ₹8,000
- Lichen Planus medications and topical treatments: ₹10,000
- Osteoarthritis management: ₹5,000
- HRCT scan to investigate lung opacities: ₹5,000
Second goal: ₹1,50,000 (~USD 1,630): C's surgery and recovery
Once K's immediate care is covered, this goes toward C's meniscus repair and the physiotherapy needed to restore mobility afterward. Delaying surgery risks further joint damage.
- Pre-operative imaging and blood work: ₹15,000
- Meniscus repair surgery: ₹1,10,000
- Post-surgical physiotherapy (~35 sessions at ₹600/session): ₹25,000
Full goal: ₹2,60,000 (~USD 2,820): Includes S's ongoing medical management
The remaining ₹50,000 covers S's diagnostic workup and the supplies they need to manage their blood sugar condition day-to-day. Without monitoring supplies, fluctuations between hypoglycemia and
hyperglycemia can become dangerous within hours.
- Diagnostic workup for Type 1 Diabetes: ₹15,000
- Ongoing monitoring supplies (glucometer strips, lancets): ₹20,000
- Endocrinologist consultations: ₹15,000
How your donation helps
For K, reaching the first goal means completing TB treatment without interruption and getting the HRCT done so we know what we are dealing with in her lungs. For C, the second goal means surgery and full physiotherapy — the difference between restored mobility and long-term joint damage. For S, the full goal means being able to monitor and manage a condition that without supplies and oversight can become dangerous within hours. None of this is elective. All three of us are at a point where delayed care has direct consequences on our health and ability to function day-to-day.
Any amount helps. Please share widely.
