Hello. My name is Heathere, and this past Sunday my baby Zoey was attacked by another dog. She was rushed to the animal hospital where she was found to have 3 broken ribs, several 1/2" lacerations that required stitches, and she had to have 2 drain tubes put in. As of now, the Dr said she's still considered in critical condition due to the extent of her injuries. She has to keep a tight bandage on at all times to keep pressure on the ribs and to hold the drain tubes in place. Because of how extensive the injuries are, only the Dr can change the bandages and flush the drain tubes. She had her surgery Sunday; she was taken for the 1st bandage change on Monday morning and to also be checked for internal bleeding and to make sure she wasn't getting worse. Then she had to be taken back Wednesday morning to have her bandages changed, and the Dr was concerned because Zoey hadn't eaten or drank anything since the day of the attack, and she hadn't used the bathroom. They kept her overnight to run tests, give her IV fluids, nausea and pain medicines, and force-feed her. I picked her up Thursday afternoon, and she seemed to be a little bit better. She's actually eaten a few bites of boiled chicken and took a few drinks of water, but now she's developed several bruises on her belly that keep spreading and getting worse. I called her Dr again, and she has to be taken back in to make sure it's not internal bleeding or an infection has set in, and it's just from the attack and the broken ribs. And she has to have her bandages changed, drain tubes flushed, and shots. I'm already out over $1200 since Sunday and I don't have anything left to give at this point. But the Dr will not see her without payment. I can't sit back and let my baby die. She's like my child. I can attach or send the invoices from the last 3 visits this week to show what I've already paid, what they've done so far, and what still needs to be done. She's going to have to have another operation sometime in the near future as well for a pocket of tissue that's pulled away from the skin and bone and isn't healing. Any help would be greatly appreciated to save my baby.
